Brita McLaughlinAbout Brita

I am a certified Life coach and licensed relationship coach, leadership development consultant & facilitator with a big heart, keen sense of intuition and a solution orientated mind. I am a business owner and I tend to fund raise as a hobby. I am known for an uncanny sense of intuition and insight into human nature and am able to zero in on and identify the root causes of challenges for people, relationships and organizations and move these aside to shine light on their strengths, talents and more inspired selves/centers. My purpose is to inspire momentum in people so that they maximize their potential and create greater success and a deeper sense of fulfillment for themselves.

I have a successful track record in helping clients get to the heart of who they are, articulate what they want and realize their goals and  even dreams, in both their professional and personal lives and relationships. I am passionate about supporting clients to believe in themselves wholeheartedly so that they can expand their capacity to lead, to relate; to change.

When I was in high school I wanted to be a teacher. I ended up graduating in international relations with from the University of British Columbia which served me well corporately for the next 10 years in a sales/marketing/sponsorship capacity at the executive & national level with the largest winery in the world — E & J Gallo. Through this  experience as well as  my time as Executive Director of the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation ,  I formed an interest in the process of  effective leadership & successful relationship development and that of course drew me to  coaching I completed two years of intensive coach training through the premier international coaching development firm, The Coaches Training Institute. I am also a licensed relationship coach having completed over a year of training from the two most prestigious relationship coaching firms in the world — The Relationship Coaching Institute and the Center for Right Relationship. I certainly didn’t take the traditional route, but with the privilege of now working in the coaching profession, I consider myself a teacher of sorts. I am at the very least an expert in helping clients tap into the effective leader and relationship expert within themselves.

I have shared my leadership and relationship expertise and coached professionals and individuals internationally for the last 6 years on how to connect with the heart of who they are and raise the bar on their own brand of leadership, what it takes to create extraordinary results & how to tap into a real sense of fulfillment.

I love to ski on both water and snow; I enjoy walking with friends (and our soon to be new puppy Koa), reading, cooking and entertaining. I can almost always be tempted by a great glass of wine. My back is thankful that I am becoming a devotee of pilates and ball work. My hidden passion for writing is coming out of the closet and I am always active in my community in some form of give back operation. The time I treasure the most is with my family and friends and our children are my greatest source of inspiration. My all time favorite line is from a Crosby, Stills & Nash song that hit the charts when I was a teenager:  “Teach your Children well what you believe in. Make a world that we can live in.” To me the best way to teach anyone is to inspire them — to walk your talk and show them how to be. I am not all that I want to “be” all the time, but I am inspired to make the effort in that direction every day.
